I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet family earlier this spring at the Arboretum. Amazing family + one of my favorite parks in the city = fabulous photo session. This family was so much fun to work with and so patient with me as we tromped around the entire arboretum on a dreary Saturday. They also made me the BEST baklava that I have ever eaten. Thank you guys 🙂
If you have never seen a baby river otter, you are missing out. They definitely an overload of cuteness.
These little ones have a pretty sad story of how they ended up at PAWS. I won’t get into the details, but if you ever find yourself with an otter guest in your garage, please consider all of your options before calling an exterminator. There are many far more humane options that are just as easy for you and are even less expensive. If you do call an exterminator, ask what their process is. Hopefully you will want to reconsider after finding out.
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything from PAWS, but as PAWS is gearing up for baby season, it seemed like the perfect time to share a photo of this cutie. If you are interested in helping PAWS prepare for baby season, visit PAWS.org to see how you can help. Consider volunteering, or donating a item off their wish list.
I have been privileged to photograph so many beautiful weddings, but Jessica and Joe’s was truly one of my favorites. I photographed there wedding as a second shooter to Studio517, and I am so glad I got to be a part of it. To start with, Jessica and Joe were so in love and it was evident throughout the day that they were absolutely perfect for each other. Their wedding was the first time I was able to photograph at the Hollywood Schoolhouse, and I hope there will be many more to follow. It is an AMAZING venue filled with antiques, brick walls, and beautiful lighting. If I was getting married in WA instead of MN it would be my choice location. Jessica wedding was perfect for the venue, and she had thought of every detail, including these adorable shoes for her flower girl.
Jessica’s dress GORGEOUS
The groom’s first look gets a lot of attention, (As it should- it is certainly a special moment) but I have to admit I love the bride’s expression during first look’s just as much. What makes this couple so sweet is that they looked at each other like throughout the entire day.
In the spirit of keeping this blog from getting to worded, I’ll skip ahead to the reception. I have to admit that I love Father/Daughter dances.
Everything about Jessica and Joe’s wedding was so sweet and genuine. I loved this candid moment between the bride and her maid of honor after the MOH’s tear-jerking toast.
As I mentioned to in my last post I am taking to some time to share some of my images from the past year that I took while working at the wonderful Duclos Studios II. Chris and Heather’s Bellingham wedding was one of my favorite weddings of the season. They were such a sweet, lovely couple and it was such an honor to be part of photographing their special day.
I can truly say that I enjoy photographing every part of a wedding. However, I think all photographers have a favorite part of the day, and my favorite part is definitely the getting ready pictures.
It is such a fun, memorable part of the day. The bride is surrounded by her friends and family, and there is so much excitement and love in the air that it makes for so many special moments. Its a perfect part of the day to combine photojournalism and editorial photography.
Heather and Chris made it a point to make sure that there reception at the Bellwether was a blast for everyone. including the kids. They set up a kid table (a table full of glow sticks, bubbles, ring pops, etc.) to ensure everyone was having a good time
I stepped down from Duclos Studios II this month in order to have more time to focus on my own photography. Working at Duclos Studios II, has been an amazing opportunity and I am going to miss being part of the wedding photography team. However I am excited to have more time this summer to pursue my own photography as well to plan my own wedding (yay!). I am still planning to second shoot a few weddings, but I am decreasing the amount drastically. Ryan Duclos (http://www.bellinghamphotographer.com/) has given me permission to post some my favorites photographs that I took while working with the studio.
I’m going to spend the next few weeks posting photos that I took during my time with Duclos Studios II. I had the privilege to photograph so many amazing weddings that it is hard to pick a favorite, but since I don’t want to post 2,000 photos I will try and narrow it down.
I’ll start by posting one of my first and favorite weddings with Duclos Studios, Anne and Jeriah’s wedding which I shot back in 2012. Anne and Jeriah got married at Maplehurst Farms in Mount Vernon. Maplehurst farms is one of my favorite venues, and if you are looking for a wedding venue you should definitely check them out at Maplehurst Farms.
If the beautiful entry to Maplehurst farms was the only selling point to the venue, I would say it was enough to justify a strong recommendation from me. It is only the beginning of such a gorgeous the venue. And of course, the lovely Anne and Jeriah made the photo perfect. They were such a sweet couple and joy to photograph.
While I love taking the styled editorial shots of the bride and groom, I have to admit that my favorite photos to take at a wedding are the candid shots. There is nothing better than capturing a truly happy moment and being able to provide the couple with something tangible to remember that moment by. I just love this goofy moment between the bride and her father.
I also love this moment between the bride and groom. From an editorial standpoint, I realize it isn’t a perfect photo. I cringe a little bit every time I see the chairs in the background. However, I still love this photo and wanted to show it because it is such a sweet, genuine moment between the bride and groom.
And I just had to post one picture of the dress, because I absolutely ADORE this dress. It so beautiful and was such a perfect compliment to their lovely country wedding
I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing the T family while I was in Minnesota. They were such wonderful, loving family, and were great sports about being out in the Minnesota cold.
